FOR WHOM THE (YELLOW) BELL TOLLS

Esperanzas.JPG

Emerald.

Esperanza.

English or Spanish, May is here.

Mayo e aqui.

Green as an emerald.

Thanks to the mighty rain.

It paints the entire county.

And in every shade of green at that.

The official May flower is blooming too.

Lily of the Valley.

Lilies DeValle.

As are a plethora of others.

May is not just full of promise.

It IS the promise.

Of new life.

And rebirth.

The joyful Gaillardia.

And perky Spiderwort.

The hawk.

The doves.

Mourning.

White-winged.

And Inca.

The glimpse of a Summer Tanager.

Or Painted Bunting.

Robins.

Finches.

Cardinals.

Bluejays.

Wrens.

Woodpeckers.

And the effervescent hummingbird.

Lots and lots of hummingbirds.

So hang it up.

A feeder, that is.

Mason Feed Store sells hummingbird feeders.

And food for almost every kind of bird.

You can get plants to attract all those birds (and butterflies too) at The Green House.

Esperanza is one.

Otherwise known as Yellow Bells.

A perfect plant for May.

Yellow flowers.

Emerald green leaves.

Hardy and happy.

A real stunner.

So it’s true—

April showers do bring May flowers.

Just take a look around.

May your garden bloometh over.

That’s Mason.
