IMG_0687

Fruta.

Fresca.

Right here.

Right now.

Fresh fruit.

At Lowe’s Grocery Store.

Believe it or not.

Bing cherries.

Rainier cherries.

Watermelon.

Apricots.

Bananas.

Raspberries.

Blueberries.

Blackberries.Round-Up 2015

Grapes.

(Green and red.)

Strawberries.

Honeydew melon.

Peaches.

Nectarines.

Oranges.

Apples.

Ruby Red grapefruit (from Texas).

Thursday morning’s best.

For the best selection.

And the freshest.

Won’t last long.

It’s all seasonal.

Purt near.

Like the county’s own watermelon.

And cantaloupe.

Get it while you can.

Tomato is a fruit too.

Though used as a vegetable.

And actually a berry…

Botanically speaking.

Europeans once believed tomatoes to be poisonous.

Then the Italians got smart.

But the British held on to the fear for 200 years.

Many thanks to the brave person who proved them wrong.

Aztecs ate tomatoes as long ago as 700 AD.

And called them “tomatl.”

That’s Nahuatl for “tomato.”

I say tomato.

You say tomahto.

Vine-ripe.

Hothouse.

Beefsteak.

Heirloom.

Cherry.

Roma.

Grape.

Nothing beats biting into a homegrown tomato.

Freshly picked.

On a warm summer day.

And don’t forget the salt shaker.

That’s Mason.
